Justin Lee

Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counsellor

I am a Metanoia qualified Counsellor (BACP registered) based in London. I offer confidential one-to-one online counselling on both a short and long-term basis - whatever is most appropriate to your means, needs and situation.

Why Therapy? We all face struggles from time to time that challenge us on a level that forces us to confront the very limits of our capability. When we are confronted by such overwhelming stressors, be they financial, physical, psychological, spiritual, or inter-personal - they can often seem like insurmountable problems that threaten the very core of our identity. It is in these moments when life seems to have gotten the better of us and we feel we can no longer cope, that we find ourselves posed with Life's proverbial existential question - am I going to 'sink or swim'? and when faced with the reality of being unable to do the latter on our own, we have to make what feels like the bravest choice of all, to swallow our pride, overcome our shame and do the most human thing we can - reach out for help.

About Me and My Therapy Practice

It is my firm belief that if we can find the courage to ask for help (which is often the hardest part of the process), then as long we commit the time energy and emotional resources to unpacking our difficulties in the presence of a caring, empathetic, compassionate and non-judgemental other, we can learn how to make more meaningful sense of our experience, that enables us to re-frame our problems to manage them more effectively, which in turn allows us to engage more fully and congruently in our lives and relationships.

My philosophy in life and therapy revolves around a fundamental belief in life as a process, which means change is inevitable, and it is our ability to come to terms with that reality in order to embrace the paradoxical nature of Life, that will enable us to meet life's challenges with an adaptive receptivity that means we can make like the Young MC and roll with the punches.

I feel my life experience and varied career to date (Architecture Graduate, Record Shop & Label Owner, DJ, Portrait Artist, Risk Projects & IT Change Consulting) has played a vital role in forging this mindset that sees life as a journey of self-discovery, where the most crucial attitude any of us can adopt (and what I hope to foster in my clients) is that of openminded curiosity and respect for what is, as it is this attitude and relationship to the world and others that is the foundation for all learning, growth and meaningful interpersonal contact that is the lifeblood of evolutionary adaptation and self-actualisation.

So if you are looking for someone to talk to, who cares profoundly about humanity and has a genuine passion about helping others find the necessary courage and self-belief to move forward in their life with a newfound sense of purpose and belonging - then please drop me a line so we can explore how we might work together. And rest assured that whatever shape our journey takes, I will meet you with unflinching commitment, heartfelt compassion, empathy, and congruence.

Wherever you are at, I look forward to meeting you there and taking that first tentative step together.....
